Surface code model for Fibonacci helical pathways of the Orch OR microtubule.

The Orch OR theory proposes that consciousness arises from quantum processes in microtubules within neurons. This study presents a surface code model to simulate the quantum properties of microtubules on a quantum computer. The model interprets asymmetric Fibonacci helical pathways in tubulin as logical qubits, which can stabilize surface code. The authors analyze the conditions needed for future quantum computers to test this model. This work offers a novel perspective for investigating Orch OR theory, though its experimental feasibility depends on advances in quantum computing.
