THE NORMALITY OF THE CONSCIOUSNESS AND THE NORMALITY OF THE BODY. HUSSERL’S VIEW ON NORMALITY

Studia Universitatis Babeș-Bolyai. Philosophia August 1, 2025 Imola Reszeg

Husserl's early transcendental phenomenology asserts the absolute normality of transcendental consciousness, while his later genetic-generative analyses trace the normality of experience back to the normality of the psychophysical body, creating a contradiction. This contradiction can be resolved by adopting the perspective of embodied consciousness, which Anthony Steinbock identifies as present in Husserl's late writings.
