An Ontological Solution to the Mind-Body Problem

The author proposes an idealist ontology in which spatially unbound consciousness is the sole fundamental reality. Physicalism and bottom-up panpsychism are criticized for failing to solve the hard problem of consciousness and the subject combination problem, respectively. In this view, all living organisms are dissociated alters of this unbound consciousness, and the perceived universe is the extrinsic appearance of phenomenality surrounding each alter. Artificial creation of individualized consciousness would therefore require artificially inducing abiogenesis.
