Key points Argues that metamodernism offers a cultural and philosophical framework for understanding post-digital reality, in which digital technologies are formative factors shaping worldviews, modes of thinking, and sociocultural practices rather than mere communication tools. Contends that globalization generates multiple cultural codes and value systems, and interprets "metamodern consciousness" as a mode of adaptation combining openness to plural meanings with ethical responsibility, reflexivity, and critical interpretation of the information environment.

Abstract

The paper presents a philosophical and anthropological analysis of the transformation of human consciousness in the context of metamodernism and post-digital reality. It argues that digital culture should be understood not merely as a set of technological practices but also as a semantic and axiological environment that shapes new models of social interaction, communication, cognition, and identity construction. The study demonstrates the interrelationship between metamodernism and globalization, emphasizing that globalization generates a multiplicity of cultural codes, value systems, and symbolic orders within which contemporary individuals are compelled to oscillate continuously between contradictory poles of meaning. It is further argued that post-digital conditions are characterized by the deep integration of digital technologies into everyday life, whereby the digital environment becomes an inseparable context for the formation of human thought, social relations, and ethical orientations. Particular attention is paid to the impact of algorithmic mechanisms, information flows, and information warfare on the construction of social reality, the transformation of critical thinking, the formation of collective memory, and emerging patterns of media consumption. Metamodern consciousness is interpreted as a mode of human adaptation to a globalized digital world, combining openness to a plurality of meanings with a commitment to ethical responsibility, reflexivity, and the critical interpretation of the information environment. The paper concludes that metamodernism represents a cultural and philosophical framework for understanding post-digital reality, in which digital technologies function not only as instruments of communication but also as formative factors shaping worldviews, modes of thinking, and sociocultural practices.
