Abstract
The world today is marked by deep conflict, ideological rifts, religious tension, widespread anxiety, and ecological instability. Despite advances in technology and economics that have reshaped our global environment, these developments have not always led to greater ethical responsibility or social unity. In this context, Sufism—the mystical tradition within Islam—offers a profound spiritual and ethical approach to building peace, encouraging cross-cultural understanding, and promoting well-being for all. Rather than presenting Sufism as a quick fix for complex global issues, this paper suggests that its focus on personal transformation, compassion, humility, selfless service, and universal love can help address many of today’s problems. By bringing together insights from classical Islamic mystics and contemporary scholarship, this study explores how Sufi values can support social cohesion, interfaith respect, and peaceful coexistence in a diverse world.
