Este capítulo apresenta a reflexão sobre os contatos e intercâmbios entre usuários de ayahuasca e de peiote em contextos rituais no México. Diferentemente do que opinam outros autores, os contatos e usos alternados ou combinados dessas substâncias enteógenas não acontecem de forma descontextualizada, constante ou desterritorializada. Essas novas formas revelam negociações ou acordos baseados em princípios éticos de ordem e estruturação e, ao mesmo tempo, tensões e disputas que anunciam o surgimento de um campo eteógeno vibrante que tem sua própria legitimidade cultural e merece ser estudado.
