Abstract
This research paper explores the utility of Electroencephalography (EEG) in studies of consciousness. EEG is an essential tool for tracking and analyzing non-invasively cerebral activity related to the study of states of consciousness. The principles of electromagnetic activity are presented in this paper, which explains the basics of the utility of EEG in the study of consciousness and highlights two main tools for analysis, MNEPython, and EEG LAB. The aim of the current paper, relating current methodologies and advances in EEG analysis, is to contribute to the current debate on consciousness and the technological innovations enhancing its study.
