Abstract
The television show Altered Carbon, based on Richard K. Morgan’s book, narrates a futuristic society in which it is possible to separate consciousness from the body, inserting it in an external stack. The popularization of this technology, common to almost all citizens, creates discussion about that society, where the identity is now dissociated from its material form. Here we discuss the concepts of consciousness, mind and body present on the show, and possible associations with neuroscientific literature´s theories.
