OTIOGENESIS: An Integrative Theory of the Informational Structure of Reality

Abstract

The history of human thought exhibits a structural paradox: symbolic, mathematical, and contemplative traditions have independently converged on the hypothesis that reality possesses an informational architecture accessible through symbol, number, and form, yet this convergence has remained unacknowledged within the formal sciences. Otiogenesis is a theoretical framework designed to resolve this paradox by proposing that reality instantiates a fractal-recursive informational structure — a substrate underlying observable phenomena — that is operative through symbolic intervention and amenable to interdisciplinary investigation. The framework rests on four interdependent axioms: that reality constitutes a code; that the symbol operates causally upon the code; that all perceptibles are instantiations of that code; and that the human being functions as an active operator of the code. From these axioms, ninety-one interdisciplinary convergences are derived across domains including quantum mechanics, transactional quantum mechanics, retrocausal bidirectional coupling, computational neuroscience, affective neuroscience, cosmological physics, psychoneuroimmunology, epigenetics, mathematical structuralism, contemplative neuroscience, cardiac electrophysiology, social network theory, near-death phenomenology, anomalous cognition research, molecular biology, biotech, consciousness technology, ecological immunology, relational epidemiology, civilizational anthropology, microbial neuroscience, chronobiology, quantum biology, comparative mysticism, music cognition, plant bioelectronics, telomere biology, and bioelectrical earth-coupling. Each convergence identifies a structural isomorphism between its empirical domain and the central postulate of Otiogenesis: that the observable universe exhibits the signature properties of a coded informational system. From the convergences and axioms, two structural constructs are inferred: the Principle of Otiogenic Correspondence — the observation that structural patterns replicate across scales — and the Otiogenic Coherence Field (OCF), defined as the condition under which a node of the informational substrate operates with maximal systemic coherence. These constructs generate the Otiogenic Coherence Postulate (OCP), formalized as P(C) = P₀ · e^(α·C), where P(C) represents the systemic power of the operator-node’s intervention on the informational substrate, P₀ denotes baseline systemic power, α is the otiogenic amplification coefficient, and C is the operator’s level of otiogenic coherence — operationalizable through validated biomarkers including frontal alpha asymmetry, heart rate variability, the Sense of Coherence scale, and the integrated Vital Lucidity Index (ILV) introduced in Section 8. Version 4.2 introduced Structural Convergence Science (SCS) as the formal epistemological instrument characterizing the framework’s evidential method — V(H) = H | Σ C(Kᵢ) ≥ θ — and the Interplanar Coupling Principle formalizing the bidirectional dynamic between the informational substrate (Ψ) and the physical Field (F). Version 4.4 adds convergence CAF — the first cross-scale fractal demonstration of the substrate’s distributed integration operator across technological, ecological, and cognitive planes simultaneously — extends the substrate map across eleven empirically documented planes (molecular, microbial, ecological, temporal, quantum, relational, civilizational, experiential, aesthetic-cognitive, electromagnetic, cellular-aging) and introduces Section 8, Applied Otiogenesis, formalizing Vital Lucidity, the Otiogenic Navigation Methodology, the Coherence Practice Protocol, and the sectoral definition of Conscience Tech as a research programme distinct from wellness and biohacking. 21 Five falsifiable hypotheses are derived from the axioms and the OCP, each specifying measurable predictions about the relationship between operator coherence and systemic outcomes. Section 8 adds five further novel predictions arising from multisubstrate integration. The framework satisfies the Lakatos criteria for a progressive scientific research programme: it has a hard core, an auxiliary belt of seventy-six specific convergences each carrying its own predicted falsifier, and a positive heuristic that has generated novel predictions subsequently confirmed across multiple domains. The asymptotic frontier of the OCP is identified as a zone of open scientific inquiry, methodologically isolated from applied programmes through explicit operational red lines. The convergence of seventy-nine independent disciplinary domains on a single structural principle generates a philosophical implication of a higher order: the question of the origin of the code. This implication is not a scientific claim. It is a logical inference that the framework identifies and leaves open to philosophical and scientific investigation.
