| Key points | Argues that mystical experience can be understood through a communications theory centered on the Christian concept of the 'Verbum': God's speaking of the Word unfolds creation from unity into multiplicity, while mystical experience refolds the person into unity with God as a foretaste of the end of time. Abstract
(...) English Starting from parallel insights in Science and Theology the author sketches a Communications theory of mystical experience. Central to this is the christian concept of'Verbum', the Divine Word. In speaking this word (Joh. I, 1) God develops the creation from singlefold to the manyfold which makes communication necessary. At the same time this communication with God continues to exist: In the mystical experience one again is refolded into unity with God. This is also already a temporary experience ofthe promise for the end oftime. In relation to the concepts ofthe Pastoral Instuction the trinitarian trias Communio-Communicatio-Communio are central for the theological and cosmological understandig.
