Abstract
Presently, the spread of Spanish over native communities has caused a gradual displacement of the languages that are practiced in these spaces, especially in activities that are part of their identity and cosmogony as a community. Therefore, the following work aims to examine the process of linguistic displacement in the Nahua shamanic ritual of the Cuacuila community within the municipality of Huauchinango, Puebla. For this, our approach sets off from two specific stages of ritual: first, the work of the ritual specialists was recorded outdoors; later, it was carried out inside the home of a ritual specialist during the moments of healing. All of the above in terms of the interdictions motivated by the needs of the environment in the discourse of the tlapatiani. Thus, the discussion we present allows us to explore entities that provide meaning and another way of seeing the world.
