Abstract
Near-Death Experiences (NDEs) have consistently shown a highly consistent structural pattern across decades of research—white light, tunnel, life review, peace, out-of-body experience—and correspond precisely to the sequential shutdown of brain regions. This paper proposes that this phenomenon is not a random hallucination, but a data retrieval and upload process triggered by the decoupling of consciousness signals from the brain receiver. The life review is a visualization of data retrieval, the slowing of time is an experiential effect of accelerated retrieval. The recovery and recounting of vegetative patients, and the lucid moments of Alzheimer's patients, provide reverse validation for "consciousness independent of the brain."
