Abstract
This study investigates the effects of a brief mindfulness program on the promotion of positive emotions in university students. The high prevalence of stress and anxiety in higher education has encouraged the search for effective and easily implementable psychological interventions. Based on this issue, the main objective is to analyze changes in positive emotions after the application of a very brief mindfulness protocol, using a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. The methodology involved the application of validated instruments for emotional regulation and positive affect in a sample of undergraduate students, with pre- and post-intervention measurements. The results indicate significant increases in levels of positive emotions and a reduction in negative affects among participants exposed to the program. It is concluded that brief mindfulness interventions have the potential to promote psychological well-being in the university context, offering a viable alternative to address student mental health demands.
