Abstract: The hard problem of consciousness asks why there is something it is like to be a physical system. This paper presents the Reflexive Architecture of Consciousness (ARC), a formal theory that dissolves the hard problem by showing that the question that sustains it arises from an incomplete description. The theory's central claim is the Principle of Architectural Identity (PAI): the quale Q is identical to the reflexive functioning of an embodied architecture A, expressed as Q = f(A). The architecture comprises three components: the Basal Processing Center (BPC), which performs massive non-conscious processing; the Virtual Reflection Terminal (VRT), a projection bottleneck that selects a fraction of processing and weighs it by precision; and the Experience Projection Center (EPC), the pole where projected content is occupied as experience.
