Abstract
Cardano was a polymath who practiced medicine. In mathematics, he is remembered through his publication of formulas for solving cubic and quintic equations. He is sometimes credited with the introduction of basic probability theory. We present a summary of his adventurous life. Cardano was a mystic in many ways. Since his childhood, he ‘hallucinated’ various objects and scenes. He had frequent OBEs (out-of-body experiences). He was an astrologer. He had precognitive dreams. And he was able to achieve ecstatic states of consciousness. We briefly discuss the phenomenon and the ubiquity of hallucinations. We also outline the possibility of the genuineness of astrology, as well as the idea that our reality is shaped by our expectations.
