Summary
AI-generated from the abstractA narrative review of mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) interventions for older adults finds positive effects on stress reduction, mindfulness, and emotional well-being, with benefits reported for both longer and shorter training sessions. However, the body of research on older adults is small, and the authors call for increased research activity in this area given its high relevance. The review synthesizes current findings but does not present new empirical data.

Abstract
Abstract: Current research findings on interventions based on the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction concept indicate various applications and positive effects. Positive effects are found in both longer and shorter mindfulness training sessions. Based on a narrative review, we review the positive effects regarding stress reduction, mindfulness, and emotional well-being among older adults. Because of the rather small body of research on older adults and at the same time the high relevance of the application, the authors call for increased research activities in this area.
