Abstract
Wearing consumer-grade EEG headband for meditation has become a popular way to join in the meditation practice. However, the existing EEG indicator can't clearly identify the various complex states that may occur during meditation. In this paper, a series tasks have been designed to simulate different stages of attention during meditation, and Multifractal Detrended Fluctuation Analysis (MFDFA) is used to analyze the recorded EEG during these periods to find the characteristics of differences in different stages. The results showed that the more immersive in meditation, the faster the people get into the second stage showed in MFDFA, and the lower the multifractal strength there, which indicated that the activity of neurons tended to be more consistent at this time, and truly entered the deep meditation state of peace and acceptance besides the external interference.
