Summary

AI-generated from the abstract

Variations in beta and gamma brainwave frequencies are closely linked to the depth of meditation experience during OM Mantra Meditation. A positive correlation exists between the level of beta and gamma activity and the depth of meditation. Experienced meditators show remarkably stable focus with minimal fluctuations compared to non-meditators, corresponding to enhanced concentration abilities.

Abstract

Abstract Spiritual Intelligence through Meditation has recently been integrated into the concept of Multiple Intelligence by Dr. Howard Gardner. To research deeper into Spiritual Intelligence, we have chosen to explore the “OM” Mantra Meditation. This form of meditation has shown the potential to enhance concentration, alleviate stress, reduce anxiety and mitigate depression. During the meditation sessions, we collected the EEG signals from the participants, from which we extracted neural oscillations. We found that variations in beta and gamma frequencies were closely associated with the subject’s meditation experiences. Notably, we observed a positive correlation between the level of beta and gamma activity and the depth of meditation experience among the participants. Furthermore, our observations revealed that experienced meditators exhibited remarkably stable focus with minimal fluctuations compared to non-meditators. This heightened level of focus directly corresponds to their enhanced concentration abilities.
