The Effects of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Training on Hope, Psychological Well-Being, and Functional Recovery in Patients with Schizophrenia

Mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) training increased hope, psychological well-being, and functional recovery in patients with schizophrenia more than psychoeducation or no additional treatment. A randomized controlled trial with 137 participants compared MBSR, psychoeducation, and a control group over three time points. MBSR was more effective at improving all three outcomes.
