THE CODE OF ECOMYSTICISM IN RABINDRANATH TAGORE’S WORKS: A CRITICAL APPRAISAL; pp. 311–326

Trames October 30, 2025 Swati Samantaray, Sahadeb Patro

Religions and mystical experiences have long connected humans to nature. This paper examines the ecological philosophy of Rabindranath Tagore, which posits that God is present in all beings and that the Supreme, humans, and the environment form a single, interdependent ecosystem. Tagore's works teach that everything in the universe emanates from the One, and that humans, as both spirit and matter, are on a journey with nature toward the Unmanifest. Ecomysticism, which holds all life as sacred, is presented as a framework for understanding this holistic spiritual ecology and the mutually augmenting relationships within the bio-network.

PSYCHOLOGY OF BUDDHISM AND HEALING METHOD OF JAPANESE SELF-REFLECTION; pp. 335–351

Trames October 30, 2025 W. G. Indunil Philip Shantha

Buddhist psychology and Japanese Naikan therapy share deep historical roots, yet little comparative research exists. This paper explores the relationship between them, noting that Naikan—a contemplative practice developed by Ishin Yoshimoto—derives from the Buddhist term vipassanā (looking inside) meditation. Although Naikan can be practiced without religious belief, it prompts deep introspection about one's past through interpersonal relationships. Clinical psychologists in Japan have adapted Naikan as a treatment for various mental illnesses, bridging Buddhist contemplative traditions and modern psychotherapy.
