Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) effectively reduces depressive symptoms, anxiety, and rumination while improving quality of life and self-compassion. It shows comparable effectiveness to conventional cognitive therapy and pharmacotherapy in preventing relapse. A narrative review of studies from 2000 to 2020 supports MBCT as a clinical and preventive intervention with potential for implementation in Indonesian mental health services, where adolescent depression prevalence is 6.2% according to the 2018 National Health Survey.
