Impact of preksha meditation on alpha waves in EEG

Indian Journal of Clinical Anatomy and Physiology December 20, 2018 Pratap Sanchetee, Samani Shreyas Pragya 8 citations

In young novice students, four months of Preksha meditation training led to a statistically significant increase in alpha wave frequency on EEG, rising from 49.52% at baseline to 66.59% after four months. No significant change was observed after two months. The control group showed no significant change over the same period. The findings suggest that longer meditation practice is needed to produce measurable improvements in alpha wave activity.
