Foucault, Marion and the irreducibility of the human person
Quién : December 1, 2023 Joshua Taccolini
I analyze the works of Michel Foucault and Jean-Luc Marion on the nature of the person and the self. I find Marion's “gift” phenomenology to be a more compelling account of personality, especially given an intuition widely shared by personalist philosophers, namely, that persons are irreducible. I conclude by responding to the objections of the Christian philosophical tradition.
