Improving Behavior By Implementing In-School Meditation/Mindfulness Interventions.

Maryland Shared Open Access Repository (USMAI Consortium) May 1, 2019 Geraldine Wilson

An observational study in a Baltimore County Middle School assessed the use of mindfulness activities in classrooms. The observer created an observation sheet to record whether mindfulness interventions were being implemented and to measure their effect on student behavior. The study aimed to determine if these interventions could reduce negative behavior. The text reports no specific findings or numbers, only that research in this area should continue.

The Compassionate Mother of Carmel: Teresa of Avila and the Carmelite Model for Twenty-First-Century Seekers

Maryland Shared Open Access Repository (USMAI Consortium) January 1, 2017 Ryan Salamony

Teresa of Avila's spirituality emerged from the context of imperialism, the Spanish Inquisition, and Christian monasticism. Her personal history, writings, and patterns of knowing God made her a relatable saint. The text also introduces other Carmelite figures influenced by Teresian spirituality across different eras, culminating in a discussion of Teresa as a mystic, Renaissance woman, foundress, and Christian teacher, and considers the approachability of Teresian Carmelite spirituality for twenty-first-century Christians.
