Poetry and the Art of Meditation: Going behind the Symbols

The author, a scholar of philosophy, literature, and writing, has long taught at the University of Maine—Presque Isle. His current research interests include the Bible as literature, environmental ethics, philosophy of education, and literature of peace and justice. He has authored a book on American philosophy and poetry and many articles in academic journals. He is now writing a book on critical thinking and non-violence, and a work on poetry and meditation that explores what lies behind symbols.
