College students face rising emotional challenges from political discord, terrorism, and excessive digital technology use, which weakens their cognitive, emotional, and physical health and drives record numbers seeking mental health services. In response, many U.S. colleges are adopting 'Contemplative Pedagogy'—simple methods aimed at decreasing stress, improving well-being, and increasing mindfulness so students feel more present. This paper provides educators with awareness of these challenges and practical methods for incorporating contemplative pedagogy techniques into classrooms to support students' academic and personal success.
