[The Effect of K-MBSR Program on Stress, Stress Coping Style, Depression, Anger and Sleep of Middle Aged Women].

Journal of Korean Academy of Nursing April 1, 2016 Jeong-Min Park, In-Ryoung Choi

A Korean adaptation of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (K-MBSR) reduced stress, depression, and state-trait anger in middle-aged women aged 40–59. Fifty-two participants from G city were assigned to either an experimental group receiving eight weekly 2.5-hour sessions or a control group. Compared to controls, the experimental group showed significant decreases in stress, depression, and state-trait anger. No significant changes were reported for stress coping style or sleep. The authors conclude that the K-MBSR program is effective for decreasing these psychological symptoms in this population.
