Mobile meditation for improving quality of life, anxiety and depression among surgical residents and faculty
Journal of Laryngology and Otology October 22, 2021 M. Hicks, L. A. Braden, E. M. Walsh et al.
A pilot trial randomized 19 otolaryngology residents and faculty members to either ten mobile meditation sessions or a control condition. The intervention group showed a significantly greater reduction in anxiety, measured by the Generalized Anxiety Disorder scale-7, compared to the control group. No significant differences were found in depression scores or professional quality of life. Short meditation sessions can improve anxiety among surgical personnel.
