An Exploration of Flow State and Optimal Experience as a Way for Resonance

Baltic Journal of Sport and Health Sciences April 2, 2026 Frédéric Martineau, Romain Roult

This article-essay establishes theoretical links between Hartmut Rosa's theory of resonance and flow theory, then presents a case study of Flowart, a physical activity, to illustrate how resonance manifests across multiple dimensions. The authors argue that empirical data from Flowart practice provides rich and novel insights into the experience of resonance, bridging conceptual gaps between the two theories.

Heart Rate Variability Changes in the Integrated Yoga Program: Results and Implications

Baltic Journal of Sport and Health Sciences January 24, 2022 Gilija Bernotienė, Selen Razon, Algė Daunoravičienė et al.

A 6-month Hatha yoga intervention in 13 young women altered certain heart rate variability (HRV) parameters during specific practices, though overall heart rate dynamics remained unchanged. Specifically, the very low frequency (vLF) parameter after relaxation and the LF/HF ratio after body scan meditation changed significantly, while low frequency (LF) and high frequency (HF) parameters showed no changes. The authors suggest that twice-weekly yoga practice influences vLF and LF/HF ratio, particularly during relaxation and body scan meditation, and propose that healthy women could benefit from practicing body scan meditation to improve stress response.
