Oneness Equals Knowledge: Non-Dual Realization and the Epistemology of Brahman in Advaita Vedānta

Advaita Vedānta, a school of Indian philosophy, argues that Brahman is the sole ultimate reality and that the perceived world of multiplicity is only empirical appearance. This article examines how liberating knowledge (mokṣa-jñāna) depends on realizing this ontological non-duality. Drawing on the Upaniṣads, Brahmasūtras, Bhagavad Gītā, and Śaṅkara's commentaries, it shows that knowledge in Advaita transcends the ordinary subject-object duality and is a transformative journey toward realizing the self's unity with ultimate reality. The article engages modern philosophical dialogues on consciousness and metaphysical unity while remaining grounded in classical Advaita categories. It concludes that “Oneness Equals Knowledge” is philosophically valid not as an equation but as the insight that genuine knowledge arises from realizing non-dual existence.
