Nightmares significantly impair sleep quality and emotional regulation among university students. In a sample of 300 students (150 males, 150 females) from Government Post Graduate College for boys and the University of Haripur, nightmares were linked to greater sleep disturbance and emotional dysregulation. Females showed higher levels of both sleep disturbance and emotional dysregulation than males. Rural participants also experienced significantly more sleep disturbance and emotional dysregulation than urban participants. These findings highlight the role of nightmares in disrupting sleep and emotional health.
