Sacred spaces are not only physical locations for religious practices but also psychological environments that deeply affect individuals' sensory, emotional, and cognitive worlds. Jerusalem, due to its historical continuity, symbolic density, and centrality to three Abrahamic religions, is a prime site for intense sacred space experience. Some visitors exhibit Jerusalem syndrome, characterized by transient psychotic symptoms, religious delusions, and behavioral excess.
