The Mystical Experience as a Suicide Preventive

Three suicidal adolescents with schizophrenic reactions could evoke a mystical consciousness, an 'oceanic' state that reliably soothed their overwhelming loneliness and reduced suicide risk. Recognizing this mystical state as a transitional phenomenon guides the most effective therapeutic approach.
