A Mindfulness-Based Lifestyle Intervention Among Economically Marginalized Caregiver-Preschooler Dyads: Feasibility, Acceptability, and Satisfaction.

School Mental Health January 1, 2025 Jiying Ling, Autumn Ashley, Nagwan Zahry et al. 2 citations

A 5-week mindfulness-based lifestyle intervention for economically marginalized preschoolers, their caregivers, and childcare teachers was feasible, acceptable, and satisfying. Nineteen preschoolers, 18 caregivers, and three teachers from two Head Start centers participated. Enrollment was 40.4%, attrition was 0% among preschoolers and 5.6% among caregivers. Implementation fidelity was excellent. Average participation rates were 83.2% for the preschooler component, 72.2% for caregiver meetings, and 55.6% for the social media-based caregiver component. Acceptability and satisfaction were high among caregivers and teachers, supporting the intervention's feasibility.
