This single-case experiment examined whether Mindful-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) reduces pre-delivery anxiety and increases self-awareness in two primiparous pregnant women. Anxiety was measured with the Pregnancy-Related Anxiety Scale (PRAS) and self-awareness with the Mindfulness Attention and Awareness Scale (MAAS). Participants received MBCT sessions focused on inner self-awareness over four weeks. Trend analysis of the results showed that both participants experienced decreased anxiety before delivery and increased self-awareness after the intervention. The authors suggest MBCT may be effective for reducing anxiety in first-time mothers, though the evidence is limited by the small sample size.
