This systematic review assessed the effects of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) interventions on nursing students' mental health, academic performance, and clinical outcomes. Searching seven databases and two registries through November 2025, the review included 27 studies: ten randomized controlled trials, six quasi-experimental studies with controls, and eleven single-group studies. Only six studies used traditional MBSR; the rest used modified versions. Most studies reported potential mental health benefits, but academic and clinical performance outcomes were understudied, with only five and one studies addressing them, respectively. The authors conclude that while results are promising for mental health, more research is needed on academic and clinical outcomes.
