Effects of Mindfulness-Based Interventions on Quality of Life Among Patients with Hypertension: A Systematic Review

Media Publikasi Promosi Kesehatan Indonesia June 12, 2026 Erika Dewi Noorratri, Martini Martini, Siti Fatimah Pradigdo et al.

A systematic review assessed the impact of mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs) on quality of life (QoL) in hypertensive patients. Following PRISMA 2020 guidelines, the authors searched Scopus, ScienceDirect, and ProQuest for articles published between 2020 and 2024, identifying 8 eligible studies. The findings indicate that MBIs positively affect QoL and related outcomes in hypertensive patients, though the studies varied in design and outcome measures, and not all directly assessed QoL, with some using indirect indicators. The authors conclude that MBIs show potential as a complementary non-pharmacological strategy to improve QoL and recommend integrating mindfulness into holistic hypertension management.
