High spirituality may be associated with right hemispheric lateralization in Korean adults living with epilepsy.

In Korean adults with epilepsy, high spirituality is associated with right hemispheric lateralization of the seizure onset zone, but not with temporal lobe involvement. Among 180 participants, 51.1% scored above the median on a spirituality scale. Univariate analyses linked high spirituality to female sex, older age, longer epilepsy duration, polytherapy, complex partial seizures, and use of levetiracetam or topiramate, but multiple logistic regression identified right hemispheric lateralization as the only independent factor (odds ratio: 2.410).
