Meditation therapies for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

A systematic review of meditation therapies for ADHD included four randomized controlled trials involving 83 participants. Two studies used mantra meditation; two used yoga. Comparisons included drugs, relaxation training, non-specific exercises, and standard treatment. Only one study provided analyzable data, and it found no statistically significant difference between meditation therapy and drug therapy on a teacher-rated ADHD scale, nor between meditation and standard therapy on that scale or a distraction test. Due to few studies, small sample sizes, and high risk of bias, the authors could draw no conclusions about meditation therapy's effectiveness for ADHD.
