Use of Mobile Apps and Online Programs of Mindfulness and Self-Compassion Training in Workers: A Scoping Review.

Journal of technology in behavioral science January 1, 2022 Catherine Bégin, Jeanne Berthod, Lizette Zamora Martinez et al.

A scoping review of 56 articles examined digital mindfulness-based interventions (dMBIs) for workers, finding that most interventions were mindfulness-based and delivered via web or app. dMBIs offer low cost, accessibility, and feasibility, but face obstacles like low engagement and confidentiality concerns. Studies predominantly involved healthcare workers and female samples, measuring outcomes related to work, mindfulness, self-compassion, stress, anxiety, depression, resilience, and wellbeing. The review provides directions for future research on methodology, intervention design, and individual and organizational factors.
