Exploring Knowledge Attitudes and Practice Associated with Meditation Among Tertiary Health Care Workers

International Journal For Multidisciplinary Research January 7, 2026 Jyoti Patel, P.B Neetu, Akshay Patil - et al.

Nurses at Tata Memorial Hospital who regularly face trauma, suffering, and high workloads experience occupational exhaustion, which can harm patient care and their own health. A survey-based study of 201 nurses assessed their knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding meditation, as well as perceived stress and trait mindfulness. The study also explored factors linked to interest in an online meditation program and aimed to determine whether meditation is feasible, acceptable, and effective for reducing stress and suffering. The authors propose meditation-based stress reduction as a potential holistic intervention for calming awareness, emotional regulation, and positive thinking.
