EFFECTIVENESS OF MINDFULNESS-BASED COGNITIVE THERAPY (MBCT) TOWARDS DEPRESSION

Journal of Nursing Science Update June 30, 2020 Maria Julieta Esperanca Naibili, Iman Permana

A review of 11 randomized controlled trials found that mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) is an effective psychotherapy for reducing symptoms of depression, anxiety, and emotional distress, and for improving quality of life and psychological well-being. The authors searched multiple health databases and identified 633 articles, narrowing to 11 that met inclusion criteria. They conclude that MBCT is acceptable, feasible, and applicable for treating depression.
