Relativistic conformal symmetry of neural field propagation in the brain

The authors analyze a neural field equation modeling how a neural population pulse spreads across space and time. They examine the effects of the relativistic conformal group on this equation to better understand brain function at relativistic scales. Exact solutions are derived for the propagation equation in three- and four-dimensional space-time. In the four-dimensional case, at large distances, the neural pulse takes the form of a Yukawa potential.
