Mindfulness-Based Sex Therapy (Tantric)

July 10, 2026 Lohani Noor

Mindfulness based sex therapy (MBST) integrates mindfulness meditation from Buddhist contemplative traditions with modern psychotherapeutic techniques, and is also influenced by tantric philosophy. These approaches shift therapeutic focus from performance-oriented outcomes to process-oriented cultivation of present-moment awareness, somatic attention, and non-judgmental acceptance within sexual experience.

Breathwork for Sexual Anxiety

July 10, 2026 Lohani Noor

Sexual anxiety, whether from trauma, performance shame, or arousal dysregulation, hinders intimacy, pleasure, and connection. Breathwork, as a foundational somatic practice, provides an accessible method to regulate the autonomic nervous system, reduce anxiety, and anchor present-moment awareness—core elements for healthy sexual engagement. In psychosexual therapy, structured breathing fosters embodiment, somatic safety, and trust, helping clients reconnect with sensation and desire.

Psychedelic-Assisted Psychosexual Therapy

July 10, 2026 Lohani Noor

The contemporary renaissance in psychedelic science has expanded investigation of classic serotonergic psychedelics (psilocybin, LSD, DMT, mescaline), empathogenic-entactogenic agents (MDMA), and glutamatergic dissociatives (ketamine) as adjuncts to psychotherapy. While early clinical focus centered on treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, and substance use disorders, attention is turning to complex psychosexual dysfunction. The central proposition is that by transiently altering states of consciousness and softening defensive avoidance, these agents can enable direct engagement with traumatic, shame-laden, and affective antecedents of sexual difficulties.
