The Contemporary Uses of Hallucinogenic Plants and Mushrooms: A Qualitative Exploratory Study Carried Out in France

People who repeatedly used hallucinogenic plants or mushrooms in France between 2004 and 2007 described three distinct meanings for their drug use. Some viewed the substances as enchanting, others as disorienting, and still others as visionary. These representations shaped how users understood and experienced their consumption.
