Ruqyah Berbasis Sufistik Sebagai Terapi Psiko-Spiritual Alternatif bagi Depresi
JIS Journal Islamic Studies June 19, 2026 Muhammad Husein
This systematic literature review explores how Sufi-based ruqyah, a traditional Islamic healing practice, can be understood as a form of Islamic mindfulness through the lenses of transpersonal psychology and psychoneuroimmunology. The analysis identifies three interconnected dimensions: inabah (repentance) as a means of emotional catharsis and cognitive restructuring, dhikr (remembrance of God) as resembling focused-attention mindfulness and potentially aiding parasympathetic nervous system regulation, and thibbun nabawi (prophetic medicine) as providing somatic support.
