Becoming Child of the Moment through Deleuzian Philosophy and Sufism

Open Theology January 1, 2024 Murat Sariyar 2 citations

Using Deleuzian philosophy as a springboard, the author cultivates the Sufi-inspired ideal of 'being a child of the moment'—fully present and surrendered to divine will without resistance. Rather than translating Deleuze into theology, the approach traverses his philosophy akin to traversing the phantasy in Lacanian psychoanalysis, neither fully adopting nor rejecting it but offering a parallax view to deepen connection with transcendence. The premise is that engaging with an immanent philosophy acknowledging non-representable singularities can enhance this connection, provided its limitations are delineated to prevent absorption.
