A French translation of the Trauma-Related Nightmare Survey (TRNS-FR) shows good test-retest reliability and internal consistency when used with veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and nightmare complaints. The questionnaire provides a rapid assessment of sleep disturbance and specific description of trauma-related nightmares. It is now a valid and reliable tool for clinical research in French-speaking military populations.
