The “Out-of-Body Experience” – A New Orientation for the Clinic of the Body?

This article presents two hypotheses. First, the phenomenology of out-of-body experiences has contemporary relevance that should interest clinicians, and Lacan's contributions on the ego can contribute here. Second, this relevance is correlated with a contemporary modification of the relationship to the body, one promoting distancing.
