Towards the Complete Man: Consciousness, Psyche, Mind, Memory, Soul, and Spirit

A personal overview of how humans are and should be studied identifies the lack of universally accepted definitions of consciousness and normal consciousness as a central problem. The concepts of personality and consciousness are discussed, along with the field of consciousness and bandwidth in relation to memory recovery and brain processing capacity. Similarities and differences among consciousness, mind, and psyche are listed. The mind-brain problem is presented with possible relationships defined. New topics include the need to access all stored memories to become a more complete Homo sapiens, and possible non-physical components are briefly mentioned.

A New Image of the World or Philosophical Fragments. Part II. Parallel Worlds, Levels of Understanding, Nietzsche’s Masks, Plato’s Cave Again and Other Topics

The author argues that individual actions, not those of the masses, drive human history, drawing parallels between Plato's Cave, Schopenhauer's representations, and Nietzsche's master-slave morality. Different levels of understanding are exemplified, and the impossibility of knowing how similar one's normal consciousness is to another's is disputed. The generation and destruction of internal 'demons' is analyzed as a necessary step for progressing into higher states of consciousness. The role of fear in the development of early cosmogonies is also commented on.
